Generation II Generation
Project type
Mural Arts
Date
2015
Location
1848 N Bouvier St, Philadelphia, 19121, USA
Generation II Generation is a vibrant mural created by Gabe Tiberino, located on a lot between two houses on the 1800 block of Bouvier Street near Temple University in North Philadelphia. Designed to energize the community, this project aligns with plans for a community garden—a welcoming gathering spot for local families and Temple students alike.
The mural presents an abstract landscape broken into colorful fragments, featuring nostalgic images of children playing old-school games, geometric pyramid shapes, and bright sunflowers. This dynamic composition reflects the spirit and optimism of a new generation while honoring the historical roots of the neighborhood.
This collaborative project was completed with the assistance of Carlos Lopez Rosa and the participation of students from the By Any Means Necessary Dance Co., Society of Emerging African Leaders, and Temple Student Government during two community paint days.
